What is 4M?
Welcome to The 4M Festival – where Mountains meet Music, Mic, and Magic.
Tape A Tale is delighted to introduce a festival that blends heartfelt storytelling with an unforgettable music experience, powered by Musicathon. Nestled in the serene embrace of nature, the 4M Festival is a celebration of voices—of love, longing, and community—echoing through melodies and verses under open skies.
It’s where today’s finest storytellers and musicians gather to create moments that linger long after they’ve passed. And what better place than the mountains? They hold a certain kind of wonder that helps you listen more deeply, feel more fully, and reconnect with the parts of yourself often lost in the noise of everyday life. Here, stories sound richer, music carries farther, and the magic feels just a little more real.

What's the difference between a "With Stay" package and a "Without Stay" pass? Our "With Stay" packages are the full immersive experience! They include your 2-day festival pass plus accommodation at our beautiful venue, Hill Ventures. Options range from cozy tents to deluxe cottages. Our "Without Stay" passes (like the Day Pass or Festival Pass) give you access to all the music, art, and festival activities, but you'll need to arrange your own accommodation elsewhere.
-
I'm coming solo. What's the best ticket for me?We love solo travelers! The "Solo Stag Package" is designed just for you. It includes your festival pass and a spot in a comfortable shared tent (with one other person), making it a great way to meet new people. If you prefer to arrange your own stay, the standard "Festival Pass" is the perfect option.
-
How do I get to the festival venue, Hill Ventures?Hill Ventures is located in the Dhauladhar foothills, a short drive from the main town of McLeod Ganj, Dharamshala. The nearest airport is Gaggal Airport (DHM), about 20-25 km away. The nearest major railway station is in Pathankot, from where you can take a taxi or bus. We recommend booking a taxi from McLeod Ganj or Dharamshala for the final leg of your journey. More detailed directions will be sent to all ticket holders closer to the festival dates.
-
What kind of food and amenities will be available? The festival will have a vibrant food court featuring a variety of Himalayan and multi-cuisine food stalls to cater to all tastes. Clean, hygienic washrooms will be available across the venue. For those with "With Stay" packages that include meals, we provide wholesome, locally-sourced food.

What should I pack for a festival in the mountains in October?Dharamshala in October has pleasant days but chilly nights. We highly recommend packing in layers! Essentials include: Warm jackets, sweaters, or fleece. Comfortable shoes or hiking boots for walking on uneven terrain. A raincoat or umbrella, just in case of a passing shower. A personal water bottle (we'll have refill stations). A torch or headlamp for navigating at night. And of course, an open heart ready for music and magic!
